Quality is a family matter

REDSUN was founded in 1985 by Ger van Ommeren: the owner-managed family business that we still are today. Originally, we were a pure natural stone dealer – in fact, one of the first to import natural stone from the Far East.

Over the years, our portfolio has grown continuously and has been supplemented by high-quality concrete products, ceramic tiles and, most recently, CERASUN concrete composite ceramics. Our old company premises in Cuijk were too small to expand our portfolio to include the concrete product line. So, we started looking for a larger location where we could build a concrete factory, which now also made one-stop shopping possible.

A requirement that our new site in Kevelaer on the Lower Rhine, where we have been based since 2000, meets 100%. Already in 2001, we put our first factory for concrete products into operation. The last of five concrete plants was completed in the middle of this year, each of which has the latest technology – such as a high – quality production line from the manufacturer Masa, which enables the most modern online surface refinements. Through on-line processing and one-stop shopping, we save transport routes and protect the environment.

We have also grown in terms of personnel over the years: REDSUN now employs almost 400 satisfied employees – together with our sister company Aluxe, which specializes in patio roofing. Three of them: Arjan, Geert and Coen. Like their father, entrepreneurship runs through their veins. Ger van Ommeren's sons have held managerial positions in the company for several years.
